Eulogy for soprano and string trio was composed last year for the 50th anniversary of the death of Martin Luther King, Jr. Two months before he was assassinated, he gave a sermon that ended with his own eulogy, telling the congregation what he would want said at his funeral. Eulogy is my musical setting of this portion of Dr. King's sermon. It will be performed three times over the upcoming MLK weekend on January 19, 2019 in Brookline, MA, on January 20th in Cambridge, MA, and on January 21st in Lexington, MA. Click here for more information on the concerts, which will include a number of new works written specifically for the 50th anniversary of MLK's death. Click here for a brief excerpt from the premier performance last year.

I'm offering a free e-mail notification service that will alert interested parties about upcoming performances of my music before each event. You can easily be removed from the service, and your e-mail address will not be used for any other purposes. To subscribe, send an e-mail requesting that your e-mail address be added to the notification service at jtarrh@alum.mit.edu or click here.
